And God Said “Yes”

If you remember back a month or so ago, I invited you to join me on an unknown journey?  It was my journey for justice.  You can read that post HERE.  In reading the Book “Just Courage”, I was reawakened to an idea I had about eight years ago.  I had been wrestling with it in a fresh way since picking up this book.

How do I gain knowledge about such horrible acts of injustice to human beings and not try to make a difference?  How do I see it all over scripture, God’s call to justice and setting the oppressed free, and not do something eternal?  Do I just send my measly check, and commit to keep them in prayer?  I knew that for me, there was something more.

For eight years, I have held a vision in my heart and over time, I saw God sharpening and fine tuning it.  EXACLY, three weeks to the day, I woke up to ask Jon to really just stop and pray with me about it all, because we really hadn’t.  Then at that moment, God said to me, Why don’t you ask Me?”  Convicted right.  Here I had been “asking” God as I went about my day and kept rambling all the pros and cons in my head, but I never really stopped and got on my face to listen.

So at that moment, I crawled back onto my bed, got on my knees and asked God, and He instantly said, “Yes”.  And so what is it you ask, that God said yes to?  A non-profit.  Without many details, I am going to start a non-profit to funnel funds to anti-human trafficking and social justice causes.

So in three weeks, I have the name trade marked, papers sent to the state of California, have an attorney, a staff person to help and many other open doors that I am so confident and excited in this endeavor.

This organization is not for me to make money, but for me to raise funds and funnel to organizations who are on the ground doing the real work.  To start, the team will be made up of all volunteers and donated time and services.  I hope to share more with you in a few weeks.  Until then, if you are a praying person, I would appreciate prayers for the right Board, the right Team, God to remain the center and of course the always present start-up funds.

Still on the journey,

Andrea Marie   XOXO

Sharing My Journey with You, My Journey for Justice

I am doing some soul searching – well, I think I am always evaluating myself, and life and my place in it.  For the past few years I have had a dream that God has been tailoring.  I am a BIG dreamer, so I dream up A LOT of visions and ideas of… you name it!

However, there is one thing that has been in my heart for nearly 8 years.  And in the process of figuring what could become reality, God has shown me that I have a heart and passion for injustice.

In this arena, I have found myself passionate about many things, but like I said, I am feeling God tailoring it to just one.  Outside of Him of course, I am stirring to make a difference in the injustice of human trafficking.  Over the years, since I have come to God, there are moments when I find myself in emotional intercession (prayer), for young girls and women in these hostile and unimaginable situations.  It’s hard to let your mind go there, but the fact is, is that it is happening even as I type this. Some (if not many) young girl against her will is being forced into unnatural circumstances.

I am not at all as educated as I hope to become, but I have read that over 2million children are bought and sold in the commercial sex trade.  I can’t even really wrap my head around that number, but I feel God singling my focus to this cause.

So ….I bought a book!!

It’s a start, and I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I hope to give to this cause in some way in my life here on earth and I decided to share my journey in it with you.  I picked up two books by Gary A. Haugen.  The book I am reading now is “Just Courage; God’s Great Expedition for the Restless Christian”.

I would’t call myself a reader, as I have about 6 – half to three-quarters read books on my nightstand, but I am committed to this cause and hope some of you will join me in my Journey for Justice.
